Tanner Nixon's Eagle Project

Together we can help the homeless for Christmas!
The Road Home, in partnership with the YWCA and Volunteers for America, set up a store during the holidays called Candy Cane Corner. This store enables the parents to come, with their case worker, to select items their children/family need for Christmas. Some of the items include clothes, shoes, blankets, towels, and toys (see wish list for specific items). The donated items should be new and unwrapped. My goal is to provide Candy Cane Corner with 400 items. Please join me in helping the homeless this holiday!
You can drop of your items at my home form 9am-9pm until Dec 3 Or please call me and I will come pick up your items at your convenience. Monetary donations will be accepted and used to purchase items on the wish list. A picture receipt will be sent to your email of your donation.
THANKS for your generous donation!

Happy New Year!!

A new year is upon us. For some of us the past year has brought challenges, for others, blessings. Traditionally January has been a time to set new goals and resolutions to do better. I think we often forget that each Sunday we have that same opportunity as we partake of the Sacrament. It is a time for us to evaluate what we have done in the past week and what we can do better in the coming week. We are given the chance to repent and change those things that need changing. That is one of the blessings of coming to Church each week.

Our Relief Society/Priesthood manual this year is Gospel Principles. We will be taking a break from studying “Teachings of Presidents of the Church” for the next two years. This will be a wonderful time to reinforce our testimonies and share in gospel discussion each week. By studying the fundamentals of the Gospel we will be better prepared to share the Gospel with our friends and families.

Sister Julie Beck, general Relief Society president said in the General Women’s meeting in October that the purpose of the Relief Society as established by the Lord is to prepare women for the blessings of eternal life by helping them:

    1. Increase their faith and personal righteousness.
    2. Strengthen their families and homes.
    3. Serve the Lord and His children.

This will be our goal in the coming year as we study, serve and help each other through the activities of Relief Society. As a presidency we look forward to serving you this year.

Eva White, President
